LOL Kyarra. Doesn't suprise me at all. Have meet the man a few times when I was working with some gokart designing. The first time Imet him was when I was in the army. He and Mika Salo where giving a presentation about safe driving to us or rather Mika Salo did and Häkkinen just smiled for an hour . That was 25 years ago and he is still the like that.
Butts. Very different from your finds. The old coinage is mostly Swedish and Russian, 1500-1900. In the southern Finlands coast areas they also find some other older coinage, vikings have been here to. It should be possible here at the coast in the middle of the country but I haven't found any older than 1600 with the detector. The city i live in is 390 years old this year.
Mostly we find brooches, rings, buckels and things like that also but they are usually upto 400 years old. Ofcourse occasionally there are some older finds to. We always have to remember that this is and has always been a very sparsely poppulated country. Also there arent to many MD:ers per citizen, not nearly as many as in UK.
Then ofcourse there are those who search for war relics which there are a plenty of but i haven't gone into that yet except for finding a few weapons caches. The caches I have found have been both under ground and hiden in old houses. Mostly in the cellar or attic. These caches in houses was the thing that drove me into MD:ing.
